How the Japanese progressed through Singapore

After the capture of Malaya, the Japanese bombed and captured Changi and Pulau Ubin, gaining access to Singapore despite the British attempt to hinder the Japanese by bombing the Causeway. However, this was a trick. The British moved much of their troops to Changi area. The Japanese had planned to enter Singapore through the North West instead, taking the British by surprise. Therefore, The North-western part of Singapore was occupied by the Japanese.
